Pursuant to U.C.A. Section 10-3-916 the Treasurer is appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council. The Treasurer shall have power to appoint from within the office of the Treasurer a properly qualified employee who shall be designated the Deputy Treasurer. The Deputy Treasurer is authorized to perform, and shall perform, all duties of the Treasurer during such times when the Treasurer is unavailable or unable to perform same. Any official act of the Deputy Treasurer taken in the absence of the Treasurer shall be valid and binding to the same extent as if done by the Treasurer. (Ord. 18-04 (part), 2018: prior code § 2-34)
