A person violates this chapter if the person engages in any action made unlawful by this chapter. An offense committed under this chapter by an employer employing fifty or fewer employees is punishable by a civil fine of not more than five hundred dollars. An offense committed under this chapter by an individual employing fifty-one or more employees or by an employment agency or labor organization is punishable by a civil fine of not more than one thousand dollars.
