No person shall keep a house, shop or any other place resorted to for the purpose of gambling, or permit or suffer any person in any house, shop or other place under his control or care to play at cards, dice, faro, roulette, keno or any other game for money or other property. In a prosecution under this section, any person who has charge of or attends to any such house, shop or place shall be deemed the keeper thereof. (Prior code § 17-15)
