The official shall cause an inspection for each permit issued for the erection of new signs and the structural alteration of existing signs. If the signs do not comply, the official shall issue the applicant written notice of the deficiencies and shall allow thirty days from the date of notice for the deficiencies to be corrected. If the deficiencies are not corrected by such date, the permit shall lapse. If sign(s) comply upon final inspection, the official shall sign a final inspection notice and the permit becomes binding until changes are made to the permitted sign or ownership of the sign changes.
